I Lied And Said I Was Busy

I Lied And Said I Was Busy

Have you ever lied about being ‘busy’?

The vague ‘oh I have an appointment then” when you really don’t? That sort of thing?

I most certainly have.  In the past I think I lied about this quite often. Or worse didn’t and struggled through situations that were far too much for my physical well-being, not to mention emotional or mental well-being.

I don’t know about you, but I use to lie about being busy to avoid the looks, the feelings of judgment and (as I would tell myself) to keep from hurting other people’s feelings. But I realize now that I was in fact ‘busy’. Just not what some people might consider and ‘acceptable’ busy.

“I lied and said I was busy; but not in a way most people understand. I was busy taking deeper breaths. I was busy silencing irrational thoughts. I was busy calming a racing heart. I was busy telling myself I am OK.”-B. Oakman

I wish more of us understood that you have EVERY right to be busy doing these things too.

No excuses, no hiding and no apologies needed. THIS is taking care of you, your life force, your spirit and light. It is vital and important. It is as necessary as eating and sleeping.

Why do we feel we must hide and lie about it? Who decided that our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being wasn’t enough of a reason?

The thing is it  isn’t in integrity to lie about these things – even if we can try to tell ourselves we’re being ‘nice’ for doing it. When you don’t live fully in your integrity you are slowly chipping away at your own self-worth. And honey, this isn’t worth it!

Consider that you can model beautiful self-love and self-care by showing up in truth and acknowledging what you need and showing your self worth by doing the things that fill your bucket.

Martyrdom never ends well loves…cut it out,

big love
